Progressive Youth UK is a UK based organisation founded by young Northern Irish students in 2025. We are based around the principles of progressive taxation, social equality, social welfare, equal rights for all and free and fair democracy. We help young people find a voice independent from political parties and run entirely by our own generation within a political landscape dominated by the older generations to fight for a more sustainable, equal and hopeful future for everyone within the UK and across the world.
Our Objectives
Democracy & Participation
Promoting the participation of young people within the British political system and grassroots movements.
Protect free and fair democracy, the right to a fair trial and individual rights for all.
Promote transparency in lobbying and restrictions on corporate and foreign lobbying.
Empower individual communities and a culture of co-operation.
Economic & Social Justice
Promote progressive taxation on millionaires and billionaires and the addressing of inequality within our society.
Expanded social welfare programs.
Promote Workers' rights and the right to unionization.
Promote housing reform to make housing more affordable and available on mass.
Environment & Technology
Promote net zero policies and a Green New Deal.
Promote the regulation of AI and AGI development.
Equality, Diversity & Human Rights
Promote gender-based, racial, sexual, and nationality-based equality and fight back against discrimination
Promote the equal treatment of immigrants within our society.
Peace & Opposition to Extremism
Fight back against political violence and persecution across our country.
Fight back against the far right, in the form of Reform UK and Oligarchy within our country.
Activities
We currently are focusing on empowering youth and spreading our message of economic equality, progressive taxation, social reform and sustainability through social media and we are looking for a founding group of volunteers to serve as social media managers, local managers, or just general membership to help us realise the dream of an organisation built by and for our generation and our interests independent from political parties dominated by older generations and elites.
